WHO I AM

Samantha Hawcroft

Lead Investigator Workers Compensation, Public Liability & Fatality Matters

With almost two decades of experience as both an investigator and as a manager of investigation teams, Sam has significant knowledge of, and experience in, the workers compensation and public liability spaces.

Having spent the earlier years of her career in specialist Psychological Injury and Work Injury Damages teams, Sam was frequently requested by clients to investigate highly sensitive matters including sexual harassment and assault, catastrophic injuries, workplace fatalities and complex litigated claims.

Over the years, Sam has delivered seminars on Psychological Injury to delegates at insurance conferences and directly to teams of WorkCover Inspectors.

Sam’s public liability work has included accidents, assaults and suicides in NSW public schools, matters referred to the Human Rights Commission regarding teacher misconduct against students, resident deaths in nursing homes, as well as the standard slips, trips and falls associated with councils, shopping centres, cleaning companies, leisure and sporting facilities, residential tenancies, hospitality venues and fast-food restaurants.

Her sound understanding of common law potential has resulted in Sam forging strong relationships with both insurers and law firms, who rely on her ability to obtain information of value and significance, upon which solid determinations can be made, in a timely manner.

With a keen interest in developing new and existing investigators, Sam’s focus is on delivering high quality investigations to clients every single time, ensuring expectations are not only met, but far exceeded.

Her warm yet no-nonsense approach instills confidence in clients and their stakeholders, who can be assured of an investigation of the highest quality, at every stage of the process.
